101 years ago, the German silent movie love comedy “The Sun of St. Moritz” celebrated its premiere. Now, a century later, this timeless classic is being brought back to life in a lavishly restored version – and with a very special musical accompaniment.

I, cinzia, composed a new score for the entire film, which I performed live on the piano to accompany the film projection. Immerse yourself in the romantic and comedic adventures set in the picturesque Engadin and let yourself be carried away by the fresh, dynamic music.

Program sequence:

  • Introduction: Before the film begins, you can look forward to an exciting five-minute short documentary created by the project manager Mesch & Ugge AG. Film experts will give you an insight into the making of the film and its historical significance.
  • Film projection: Enjoy the restored version of “Die Sonne von St.Moritz” on the big screen, presented with new music by me. Experience how the live accompaniment intensifies the emotions and atmosphere of the film.
  • Shell Piano: For this project, I created a Shell Piano so that every Movie Night would look like the 1920s. More Information about the Shell Piano here.

Wie die Kamera nach St. Moritz kam

Film pioneers first filmed in Graubünden over a hundred years ago. Cuntrasts has searched archives around the world for the oldest film documents from Graubünden. “Glisch, camera ed acziun” presents previously unknown film gems that were shot with crank cameras at the beginning of the 20th century. Contemporary witnesses and film historians comment on the rarities from all over the world and provide background information.
